WORKS INVOLVED

Geotechnical and Geological assessment :

  1. Evaluation of all available geological, and geotechnical information of  project sites,

  2. Compilation of geological, and geotechnical GIS maps of the project area

  3. Undertake Geotechnical survey, including detailed, opening of test pits by means of TLB, probes etc

  4. Test pit supervision and placement,

  5. Test pit profiling, collecting bags of disturbed sample

  6. Undertake Laboratory test including CBR, Sieve analysis, Atterburg Limits, Collapse Potential Tests

  7. Report compilation with 2 hard copies and soft copy to client

Geotechnical Investigations

Geotechnical investigations include all aspects related to obtaining a good understanding of the soil characteristics of a particular area. This understanding is critical in order to be able to effectively design structures, both from a static and dynamic point of view. It is critical that the raw data obtained from various test methods is interpreted correctly.

In order to perform sub-surface profiling, many varied techniques may be employed. These include:

  1. core sampling,

  2. shear wave velocity tests,

  3. surface wave velocity tests,

  4. digging of test pits,

  5. DCP tests and

  6. drilling of deep boreholes.

Information obtained from geotechnical investigation is critical in determining the soil characteristics on which structures will be founded. Information obtained from the geophysical tests is critical to understanding the probable behaviour of the soil under seismic conditions.

Together, the information obtained from the tests above allow us to conduct extensive analysis and design studies based on scientific data.
